Back to School Day 3
Not too much going on today with an hour of planning time in the afternoon. We will start Read to Self, be introduced to Sammy the Sequencing Seahorse and start creating a story map for Rosie's Walk. In math, I am going to pretty much follow the C2C Queensland lesson plans until I get to know the kids more and see where they are so I haven't included any resources for math.

ReplyDeleteyou've worked hard these holidays! Well done! I still have another 3 weeks to go but this time it's flying by - Tasmania is switching to 4 terms this year which means that our summer gets cut short this time.
I was actually in Brisbane last week visiting family. Very hot!! Then we drove to Sydney - in 42C heat!

Oh, I would LOVE another 3 weeks! Next week I go back for class set-up and pupil free days, so my Summer is basically over :(

I'm really glad I'm not in a demountable this year - the last 3 years were awful, it just go so hot (and freezing in Winter). 42C is just crazy - those are days to spend at the cinemas or shopping!
Our summer used to be closer to 8 weeks, but Term 1 would be 14 weeks, Term 2 was 12 weeks, and Term 3 was 16 weeks. As you can imagine, energy was zapped by then end of those long terms!!

ReplyDeleteI am surprised that you have gone back to school. We don't go back until 28th Jan. I am wondering when your school year ends? How hot is it up there. I would have thought Qld would go back later than us because of the hotter weather, although it has been mighty hot down here.

Classroom Fun
Hi Rhonda, we haven't gone back yet, just getting my planning ready and posting it here in case people are looking for ideas. We go back for pupil free days Wed-Fri next week and I'll be setting up Mon/Tues. Our first day of school is Tuesday 29th due to Australia Day holiday. I wish it was later!

The same happens to us when you guys had back to school - I usually end up chaning things in my room based on what I see in the back to school photos!
